EBA opinion on RTS on SCA & CSC and guidelines on exemption from fallback option
The regulatory technical standards on strong customer authentication and common secure communication (RTS on SCA & CSC) have been in force since 14/03/2018. The 18-month transitional period expires in September 2019. But many questions still remain open.
In order to allow market participants to smoothly and transparently implement the RTS on SCA & CSC, the European Banking Authority (EBA) has published two opinion papers on the interpretation of the SCA rules including exceptions and the exemption from the fallback option regarding dedicated XS2A interfaces: EBA provides clarity to market participants for the implementation of the technical standards on strong customer authentication and common and secure communication under the PSD2
